Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Aid to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists with patient intake procedures, including preparing treatment areas and gathering necessary equipment.
- Support patient transfer methods using proper manual handling techniques to ensure safety and comfort.
- Aid in implementing rehabilitation exercises and activities under the supervision of licensed therapists.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, adhering to privacy regulations and hospital policies.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all therapy tools are ready for use.
- Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, documenting observations accurately for review by therapists.
- Support patients with mobility, gait training, and post-operative recovery efforts using proper physiotherapy techniques.
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks to prevent injury and promote safe practices.
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide encouragement, explain procedures, and answer basic questions about therapy routines.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate patient records.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a clinical setting is highly preferred, especially in inpatient or acute care environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and post-acute care practices related to physiotherapy.
- Hands-on experience supporting rehabilitation care for diverse patient populations including geriatrics and orthopedics.
- Familiarity with patient transfer methods, mobility aids, and client communication techniques.
- Experience working with patients requiring heavy lifting or intensive manual handling is beneficial.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation protocols within orthopedic or geriatric settings enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
