Posh Pets is a locally owned small business servicing the Northern Virginia area. Recently named one of "The Best Pet Care Companies" by the readers of Washingtonian Magazine, we were also a finalist for Best Pet Care Provider for Falls Church, a Zebra "Best Pet Care" runner up, and a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite. We are seeking reliable, pet loving people who understand why some pet parents celebrate their pet's birthday, outfit their dogs in seasonal bandanas, or have a bedroom in their homes set aside for their beloved pet. We specialize in giving one on one attention to our clients, and do not perform pack walks. Duties:
- Walk dogs on a regular schedule, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Provide exercise and mental stimulation for dogs during walks
- Clean up after dogs and dispose of waste properly
- Ensure dogs are properly leashed and secured during walks
- Follow specific instructions provided by dog owners regarding their pets' care
- Monitor dogs for any signs of distress or illness and report any concerns to the owner
- Provide basic grooming services such as brushing and bathing as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including kennels and equipment
Experience:
- Previous experience working with dogs, such as in a kennel or pet grooming facility, is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic dog behavior and body language is a plus
- Strong customer service skills to interact with dog owners in a friendly and professional manner
Please note that this position may require heavy lifting at times, as some dogs may be larger breeds or require assistance.
