Physical Education Teacher (part - time / full time if willing to teach P.E. with a partner school)
Basic Job Description: Our Physical Education teacher serves students in Preschool through 8th grade, fostering a lifelong appreciation for physical activity, fitness, and overall wellness. Through engaging lessons and positive encouragement, students develop healthy habits, teamwork skills, and an understanding of how caring for their bodies honors God's gift of health.
Reports to: Principal
Knowledge, Experience, Educations required for Physical Education
1) Creates a positive and effective learning environment
2) Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
3) Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
4) Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
5) Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
7) Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
8) Prepare for assigned classes, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisors.

Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time;

Must have the physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead.

Duties are normally performed in a school/classroom environment. Duties may be occasionally performed on field trips away from school. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required):
Must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education or a related field. Must possess ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with student, staff, parents and the community.
Must be in compliance with PA State clearance requirements.
Position Purpose:
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' skills and competence in basic and complex mathematical and scientific principles, as well as an understanding of the application of mathematics and science in the solution of practical problems.
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
- Develops and administers physical education curriculum consistent with Diocesan school goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for subject area, and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
