Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and support the organization’s financial integrity. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft, ensuring timely processing and compliance.
- Conduct detailed Excel data analysis utilizing formulas like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and advanced functions to support financial reporting and audit preparation.
- Oversee payroll management through systems such as ADP or UltiPro, ensuring correct processing of employee benefits, tax filings, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by documenting processes, performing audits, and implementing internal controls.
- Assist in external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to account balances and transactions.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems such as Workday or Ceridian for seamless financial operations.
- Perform accounts receivable management including collections, aging analysis, and customer account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with human resources on benefits administration and HRIS data entry to ensure accurate employee records.
- Contribute to process improvements within the finance department by leveraging Excel data analysis skills and automation tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
- Extensive experience in accounting roles with a strong understanding of GAAP principles and technical accounting standards.
- Proven proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, Kronos or similar systems; experience with financial software integration is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and internal control frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability in Excel data analysis including formulas like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced functions, and 10-key typing skills for efficient data entry.
- Experience managing accounts payable/receivable processes along with payroll management using ADP or UltiPro systems.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is advantageous.
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for account reconciliation and journal entry accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment in fast-paced settings.
