Hours: Monday – Friday: (While Training) 7AM to 3:30PM
Madison Wood's Shipping Department is responsible for preparing and loading finished products for customer delivery and plays a critical role in ensuring orders are shipped safely, accurately, and on time. This Operator role is responsible for loading outbound trucks using forklifts, verifying shipment accuracy, and staging finished products in designated loading areas within a fast-paced industrial environment.
Accurately load outbound trucks according to shipping requirements.
Stage finished products in designated loading areas for shipment.
Accurately utilize Madison Wood's proprietary inventory tracking system to maintain shipment and inventory accuracy.
Communicate effectively with management, carriers, and other departments to ensure timely deliveries.
Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week).
Ability to work overtime, extended hours, weekends, or alternate shifts as business needs require.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
Ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces for up to 8–10 hours per shift.
Ability to navigate stairs, inclines, and uneven surfaces.
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including lifting (including overhead lifting), reaching, bending, gripping, and material handling throughout the shift.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and other heavy equipment.
Ability to work around loud noise levels for extended periods.
Ability to work in environments with dust, vibration, and treated lumber chemicals.
Previous experience operating forklifts of similar size and capacity.
Ability to safely operate diesel forklifts with a lifting capacity of at least 30,000 lbs.
Ability to independently load a minimum of 10 trucks per day following the training period.
Ability to read and interpret shipping paperwork, load sheets, and bills of lading.
Basic computer skills with the ability to accurately use inventory management software.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Strong attention to detail.
Effective verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
