Position Overview:
As a Tools Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in automating critical aspects of project management, including requirements management, change management, and configuration management. Your expertise will ensure that all project requirements are meticulously traceable, from their origins to the final product outcome.
In this role, you will develop and implement automated solutions tailored to effectively manage requirements, establish links to source documents, and enhance architectural designs throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, you will focus on other essential areas that benefit from automation, such as incident/problem management, knowledge management, defect tracking, testing processes, modeling architectures, and lifecycle traceability.

Requirements:
The Level 2 Software Tool Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:
(U) Develop, tailor and maintain associated technical documentation for software productivity
tools.
(U) Provide consulting, training and hands-on expertise to project personnel to include Key
Management personnel in the use of software tools.
(U) Integrate software productivity tools to implement existing and proposed project processes in
use.
(U) Perform regular backup of software productivity tools databases, datasets and files.
(U) Monitor, track, and manage software productivity tools, licenses, and associated media.
(U) Provide support for the installation, integration, development, customization and configuration
of s/w productivity tools (including but not limited to IBM/Rational Tools, HP Service Manager) in
support of Key Management efforts.
(U) Participate in the research, analysis and recommendation of software productivity tools to
support Key Management development efforts.
(U) Develop and maintain software productivity tools installation, integration, development and
configuration plans.
(U) Participate in the research, analysis and recommendation of software productivity tools to
support Key Management development efforts.
(U) Develop, tailor and maintain associated technical documentation for software productivity

(U) Qualifications:
Qualifications: (U) Fourteen (14) years combined experience as a software engineer, system engineer,
system administrator or configuration management engineer. Eight (8) years experience as a Tools
Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Bachelor’s
degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited institution is required. Four (4) years of
additional experience as a software engineer, system engineer, system administrator , or configuration
management experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Labor Category must be in
compliance with certification requirements detailed in DoD8570-M, IAT level 1
Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
