Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Aluminum Metal Fabricators / GMAW MIG Welders to join our production team. This role focuses on the fabrication and welding of aluminum components used in custom vehicle builds, including specialty and broadcast vehicles. In addition to welding and fabrication duties, this position may also assist with interior trim and steel fabrication work for custom broadcast vans as production needs require.
Key Responsibilities
· Cut, drill, grind, and fabricate custom vehicle equipment per engineering drawings and customer specifications
· Fabricate custom aluminum roof decks and broadcast equipment racks
· Perform GMAW / MIG welding on aluminum components ranging from .090" to 1/8" thickness
· Read and interpret engineering prints and fabrication drawings
· Measure, fit, and fabricate parts to tight tolerances (± 1/16")
· Operate fabrication tools safely, including grinders, cutoff wheels, drills, and saws
· Support additional shop tasks as needed, including drilling, spraying primer or undercoating, and general fabrication support
· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet quality and schedule targets
Required Skills & Experience
· Ability to read and measure accurately to 1/16" tolerances
· Ability to fabricate parts directly from engineering prints
· Proven experience with GMAW / MIG welding aluminum (.090" – 1/8")
· Skilled in the use of basic hand and power tools (grinders, cutoff wheels, drills, etc.)
· Strong mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills
Preferred / Ideal Experience
· Experience welding and fabricating steel structures from 16-gauge up to 1/4" thickness
· Prior experience in vehicle fabrication, specialty vehicles, or custom manufacturing environments
Minimum Qualifications
· Must have no physical work limitations and be able to lift, bend, and work on their feet for extended periods
· Must be willing to assist with other fabrication and shop tasks as needed
· Must have reliable transportation
· Must maintain a professional appearance and conduct
Work Schedule & Benefits
· Full-time position | 40 hours per week
· Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
