Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in supervising daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Lead and motivate a diverse team through effective training, coaching, and performance management
- Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales and maintain optimal stock levels
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, ensuring high-quality service and resolving issues promptly
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Manage cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, and payroll processing accurately
- Coordinate shift schedules, monitor sales performance, and implement strategies to meet sales targets
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards
- Assist with marketing initiatives and promotional displays to enhance store visibility and customer engagement
Skills
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant management roles with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customers
- Proficiency in inventory control systems, POS technology, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and retail math
- Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, pricing strategies, and merchandising techniques
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while demonstrating strong cashiering skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail in stock management and store operations
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with employee orientation, training & development programs, and performance evaluations
- Knowledge of marketing strategies relevant to retail settings; familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store operations is advantageous
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities combined with excellent phone etiquette and customer service orientation
