Job Summary
We are looking for experienced Structural Steel Fitters/Fabricators to join our growing team in Houston. If you have experience fitting and fabricating structural steel for commercial or industrial projects and can work from blueprints with minimal supervision, we'd like to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret structural steel blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Lay out, fit, and assemble beams, columns, channels, angles, plates, and other structural components.
- Perform accurate measurements and ensure proper fit-up before welding.
- Tack weld assemblies for final welding.
- Operate fabrication equipment including band saws, ironworkers, mag drills, grinders, and overhead cranes.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship while meeting production deadlines.
- Follow all safety procedures in a fabrication shop environment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Structural Steel Fitter, Fabricator, or Fitter/Welder.
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills.
- Experience fitting heavy structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
- Ability to read tape measures and use precision measuring tools.
- Experience with tack welding (MIG/FCAW preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding shop environment.
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
- Preferred Experience
- Commercial or industrial structural steel fabrication.
- Experience working with AWS welding symbols.
- Familiarity with overhead cranes and fabrication equipment.
What We Offer
