We are the creators of QMOS (Quad Mill Operation System), a specialized, in-house built software solution used by steel mills to track production, boost productivity, and ensure the smooth, uninterrupted functioning of their operations.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our remote team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our client support, ensuring that our steel industry partners get the most out of QMOS. Your primary focus will be investigating, troubleshooting, and fixing technical issues related to data anomalies and automation faults.
While many user issues can be resolved via our front-end tools, deeper data investigations require direct database interaction. Because of this, hands-on, advanced SQL experience is an absolute requirement for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level technical support for our proprietary QMOS software.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve system issues caused by data inconsistencies or automation errors.
- Utilize front-end application tools to resolve standard user issues and configuration requests.
- Dive into back-end databases to troubleshoot, script, and fix complex data issues using SQL.
- Communicate technical solutions clearly to clients to ensure minimal downtime in their mill operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- SQL Expertise (Mandatory): You must have strong, hands-on experience writing queries, troubleshooting databases, and manipulating data using SQL.
- Experience: Proven professional background working as an Application Support Engineer or in a similar technical troubleshooting role. (Note: This is not an entry-level position).
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to trace an issue from the front-end interface down to the back-end database.
- Equipment: As this is a 100% remote role, you must possess your own reliable laptop and a dedicated, high-speed internet connection.

Preferred Skills:
