Mechanic - Equipment Rental Company
Looking for a mechanic position that offers variety? This is it!
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of equipment—from hand-held small engines to larger machinery used in construction, landscaping, and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair small engines including chainsaws, trimmers, generators, and pressure washers, trailers and more
- Diagnosing and repairing larger scale diesel machines such as, excavators, skid steers, chippers, trucks and various other types of equipment
- Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, tune-ups, belt replacements, hydraulic checks, tire repairs, and inspections.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate clearly with management on repair status.
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and performance standards before returning to rental inventory.
- Keep shop area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures.
- Assist customers and staff with equipment questions when needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a small engine or equipment mechanic (rental industry experience a plus).
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work on a wide range of equipment sizes and brands.
- Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
