Position Overview
The Perioperative Assistant plays an important role in supporting safe, efficient surgical operations and ensuring every patient receives compassionate, personalized care.
Working alongside nurses, surgical technologists, anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the perioperative team, this position helps create a seamless patient experience from arrival through discharge.
The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, and proactive, with a strong understanding that every interaction with patients, family members, and teammates matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the perioperative experience
- Assist with patient transport and safe movement throughout the surgical environment
- Support patient preparation and recovery activities under the direction of clinical staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment
- Assist with room turnover and efficient surgical flow
- Support daily operating room and clinical team needs
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and excellence
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong commitment to exceptional patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented approach
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
Preferred:
- Previous healthcare, hospital, ambulatory surgery center, emergency medical services, or patient care experience
- Experience working in a perioperative or procedural environment
