We are seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to join our onsite engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, testing, and supporting electrical power systems across a variety of projects involving substations, distribution networks, protection systems, and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers, technicians, project managers, and clients to ensure electrical systems are designed and operated safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, and grounding analyses.
- Develop electrical system designs for substations, distribution systems, switchgear, and power infrastructure projects.
- Prepare one-line diagrams, relay settings, protection schemes, and technical specifications.
- Support commissioning, startup, and acceptance testing activities for electrical equipment and systems.
- Review engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Troubleshoot electrical system issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist with protection and control system design, relay coordination, and SCADA integration projects.
- Collaborate with field personnel during testing, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
- Provide technical support to clients and internal project teams throughout project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in power systems engineering, utility engineering, or electrical infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar tools.
- Experience with protective relaying, relay coordination, and power system studies.
- Familiarity with substation design, commissioning, testing, and electrical equipment specifications.
- Understanding of NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA, and applicable electrical standards.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and project coordination abilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
