Under supervision of the Department Manager, provides direct OT services. Assesses, evaluates, plans, implements and leads comprehensive patient care for individual patient age specific needs by using an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care. Assumes responsibility for assessing, planning and implementing specific treatment for patient to restore function and facilitate development of skills essential for adaptive and productive living. Identifies health and safety concerns and unsafe work practices within the workplace. Is involved in developing safe work practices and is held accountable for the day to day efforts of ensuring a safe workplace by following safe work practices.
BLS required upon hire and maintained throughout employment. Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in OT from an accredited school of OT. Currently licensed by the State of Michigan. Minimum of 6-9 months clinical student experience as required for graduation as on OTR candidate. Conducts self in a professional manner with superiors and peers. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required.
