We are looking for a dependable, friendly, and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team on Fridays and Saturdays. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, organized, and works well in a fast-paced environment. This position is perfect for an EFDA who enjoys providing high-quality patient care while working alongside a supportive dental team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures.
- Perform expanded functions as permitted by state regulations.
- Fabricate, adjust, and cement temporary crowns as permitted by state regulations, ensuring proper fit, function, and patient comfort.
- Take digital radiographs and intraoral photos.
- Prepare treatment rooms before and after procedures.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and charting.
- Ensure operatories are fully stocked and organized.
- Help create a positive, welcoming experience for every patient.
Requirements
- Current EFDA certification/license (required).
- Current Dental Assistant certification as required by state law.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience with digital X-rays and electronic dental records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment.
- Positive attitude and commitment to outstanding patient care.
