Drivers must be willing and able to operate throughout the Northeast, including New York City when required.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailer equipment.
- Haul refrigerated and dry van freight.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs).
- Communicate with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, and delays.
- Keep equipment clean and in excellent condition.
- Follow all FMCSA regulations and company safety policies.
- Represent La Yuca Express professionally with customers.
Job RequirementsRequired Qualifications
✔ Valid CDL Class A License
✔ Clean driving record
✔ Must be able to operate a 10-speed/manual transmission (standard)
✔ Must speak and understand English for communication with customers, law enforcement, and dispatch
✔ Must be willing to stay on the road for regional trips as business demands
✔ Must be comfortable driving in New York City and other congested metropolitan areas
✔ Must have strong trip-planning and safe driving skills in diverse traffic and weather conditions
✔ Must be able to operate an electric pallet jack
✔ Must be willing to perform Driver Assist deliveries and pickups, including moving freight with a pallet jack when required
✔ Ability to lift, push, and move freight when necessary
✔ Professional appearance and excellent customer service
✔ Strong work ethic with dependable attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Reefer experience
- Northeast regional driving experience
- Liftgate experience
- Experience with grocery, warehouse, and distribution center deliveries
