A global manufacturer seeks an experienced HVAC Technician to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical facility utility systems, including boilers, chillers, air compressors, and HVAC equipment. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient building operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain steam boilers, water chillers, air compressors, HVAC equipment, pumps, air handlers, and related mechanical systems
- Monitor equipment performance using the Building Management System (BMS) and respond to alarms or abnormal operating conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance, including inspections, filter and belt replacements, lubrication, and other scheduled tasks using the CMMS
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, repair or replace components, and return systems to service
- Support the site`s water treatment program by conducting routine testing, monitoring water quality, and maintaining chemical inventory
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, operating logs, and inspection reports
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal maintenance teams to support facility operations
- Follow OSHA, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and all environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Operate aerial lifts and other powered access equipment as needed
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency equipment outages when required
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training in HVAC, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC, boiler, chiller, or mechanical maintenance experience
- EPA Refrigerant Certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
- NYSDEC 7G Pesticide Certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
- Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC systems and mechanical equipment
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and utility systems
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Basic understanding of boiler and cooling tower water treatment programs
- Experience working in an OSHA-regulated environment with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Experience operating aerial work platforms or boom lifts is preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently

Pay: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
