Join UCAN as an AmeriCorps Community Engagement & Intake Lead and help drive positive health outcomes in our communities by improving awareness & access to our social service programs. At UCAN, we're committed to enhancing prosperity and well-being by delivering vital services that address crucial issues like housing, food security, energy efficiency, child development, and elder support. However, without meaningful community engagement, many people within our community would be unaware of the services available to them and their families. Our goal is to extend our programs to all those who would benefit from our many supportive services and help stabilize lives by meeting fundamental needs and empowering individuals to overcome poverty through skill-building, resource provision, and opportunity creation. As the AmeriCorps Community Engagement & Intake Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in UCAN's Department of Community Engagement, contributing to our organization-wide initiative to spread awareness of our programs throughout Douglas County. Serving within this project will require a passion for public speaking and engaging folks of all ages. You will frequently be out in the community leading fun and engaging outreach through activities, presentations, and other programming. In addition, this position will be serving people directly by providing eligibility and intake services to connect potential clients with essential services. This is vital for our more rural residents who face barriers to accessing our services and need more support. Your service project will be key in simplifying access for low-income individuals and families in Douglas County. Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
