About the Opportunity
Mecca Talent is looking for an experienced and motivated Recruiting Assistant to join our growing team. This is a hands-on recruiting position designed for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands what it takes to move candidates efficiently from initial contact through their first day on the job.
The Recruiting Assistant will work closely with Mecca Talent's recruiting and leadership team to source, vet, screen, interview, schedule, and onboard candidates for a variety of client openings.
This is a hybrid position, combining remote work with in-office responsibilities, hiring events, client-related recruiting activities, and other company functions as needed.
What You'll Do
- Assist with recruiting candidates for temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire opportunities
- Review applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates
- Conduct initial candidate vetting and phone screens
- Interview candidates to evaluate experience, work history, availability, compensation expectations, and overall job fit
- Communicate available opportunities and job expectations clearly to candidates
- Schedule candidates for interviews, client meetings, hiring events, orientations, and start dates
- Coordinate and complete candidate onboarding requirements
- Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the hiring process
- Follow up with candidates to confirm interviews, appointments, orientations, and start dates
- Update candidate records and recruiting activity within company systems
- Assist recruiters with maintaining an active pipeline of qualified candidates
- Participate in recruiting campaigns, job fairs, and Mecca Talent hiring events
- Attend company functions and other recruiting or client-related events as needed
- Help create a positive and professional candidate experience from first contact through placement
- Support additional recruiting and administrative responsibilities as the needs of the business evolve
What We're Looking For
Previous staffing or recruiting experience is required.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience recruiting for temporary, temp-to-hire, and/or direct-hire positions
- Experience screening, interviewing, and qualifying candidates
- Strong phone, email, and interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to confidently speak with candidates from a variety of professional and industrial backgrounds
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills
- The ability to manage multiple candidates and job openings simultaneously
- Excellent follow-up and attention to detail
- A sense of urgency and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced staffing environment
- Comfort working independently as well as collaborating with a recruiting team
- Reliable transportation and the ability to attend hiring events and company functions as required
- Experience with applicant tracking systems, Indeed, LinkedIn, or other recruiting platforms is preferred
