We are seeking a motivated and experienced Independent Contractor Driver Trainer to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive training to new and existing commercial drivers, ensuring they meet safety standards and operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on training sessions for commercial drivers, focusing on safe driving practices, vehicle operation, and company policies
- Educate drivers on specialized skills such as air brake operation, tanker handling, and tractor-trailer maneuvers
- Assess driver skills through practical evaluations and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Develop customized training plans based on individual driver needs and experience levels
- Maintain detailed records of training sessions, progress reports, and certification documentation
- Stay current with industry regulations, including updates related to commercial driving standards and safety protocols
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages questions, engagement, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving, with a strong understanding of truck operations and safety procedures
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements such as air brake and tanker preferred
- Prior teaching or adult education experience is highly desirable
- Classroom experience or training background in truck driving or tractor-trailer operation is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Knowledge of industry-specific certifications and regulations related to commercial driving standards
- Ability to work independently as an effective contractor while maintaining professionalism and accountability
