Job Summary
The DME Sleep Technician is responsible for providing in-office PAP (CPAP, APAP, BiPAP) device setups, patient education, and ongoing therapy support. This role focuses on ensuring patients are properly fitted, educated, and supported to promote therapy adherence, compliance, and successful long-term outcomes.
Duties
- Perform in-office PAP setups, including CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP devices
- Proper device operation and cleaning
- Mask fitting and troubleshooting
- Therapy expectations, compliance requirements, and insurance guidelines
- Ensure accurate mask fitting and equipment selection based on patient needs
- Review and document therapy usage and compliance data as needed
- Address patient concerns related to comfort, mask leak, pressure tolerance, and dryness
- Coordinate with the Compliance Team, Respiratory Therapists, and providers to support adherence
- Complete all documentation accurately in the DME system (e.g., Brightree, AirView, etc.)
- Maintain knowledge of PAP equipment, supplies, and manufacturer guidelines
- Follow all HIPAA, company, and regulatory policies
- Assist with resupply education and scheduling when appropriate
- Participate in patient follow-ups as directed
- Support overall clinic workflow and patient experience
Requirements
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent sleep credential
- Prior DME or PAP setup experience
- Familiarity with ResMed AirView and compliance requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 lbs
- Prolonged standing and sitting
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting with attention to detail and patient safety standards
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
