Job Summary:Are you a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) who thrives on direct patient care, community-based work, and making a tangible impact on the lives of seniors? At PACE-RI, we provide comprehensive care that enables older adults to live independently in their communities with dignity. Our Physical Therapist Assistants are essential to this mission. Working under the supervision of a Physical Therapist and as a key member of our Rehabilitation team, you will provide hands-on therapeutic support to our participants, helping them regain mobility, improve safety, and maintain their independence.
No two days in this role look the same. As a PTA at PACE-RI, you will be primarily based at our East Providence location, with the potential to travel to our other three PACE-RI sites as needed (mileage paid), in addition to providing care in participant homes. You will work closely with our Rehabilitation team to implement treatment plans, educate participants and caregivers on safe movement and equipment use, and ensure that assistive devices are functioning correctly. From performing minor equipment repairs to assisting with participant transfers, you will act as a vital, hands-on clinical resource for our rehabilitation efforts across the state.
To qualify, you must possess an active Rhode Island Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation. An Associate’s degree is required, along with the physical ability to assist participants with mobility needs using proper body mechanics. Experience in geriatric, medical, or home health settings is highly preferred. If you are a compassionate, self-driven professional ready to make a direct, visible difference in our local community, we welcome you to apply to the PACE-RI team!
