Lead Carpenter / Carpentry Foreman

Pay: $28–$35 per hour + Profit Sharing
Rolling Hills Construction (RHC) is a well-respected, veteran-owned general contracting company based in Junction City, Kansas. We specialize in high-quality residential remodeling and are expanding toward custom home building.
We are looking for a skilled Lead Carpenter who takes pride in their craft and enjoys leading a small crew. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day field operations on remodeling projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can mentor other carpenters, solve problems in the field, and ensure projects meet current building code requirements.
Most of our projects are within 30 miles of Junction City, so you’ll be home every night.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a crew of 2–3 carpenters
- Perform residential remodeling tasks including:
- Wall and roof framing
- Deck framing and exterior work
- Window and door installation
- Cabinet installation
- Flooring and finish carpentry
- Siding installation
- Ensure work meets current International Residential Code (IRC) requirements
- Coordinate with local code enforcement for mid and final inspections
- Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the project
- Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain job schedule and efficiency
- Report tool and equipment needs to administrative staff
- Assist with equipment inventory and maintenance
- Mentor junior carpenters and help develop strong building practices
Requirements
- 2+ years experience leading a carpentry crew
- Strong residential carpentry skills from framing through finish work
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions in the field
- Ability to reference and work within the International Residential Code
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic and professional attitude
