Shore Excursion - Certified Tour Guides
We are looking to hire dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our local team of Tour Guides at different locations in the New York City area. A perfect opportunity for individuals who enjoy interacting with people and sharing their knowledge of the city and keeping them engaged throughout a unique experience.
What you will be doing:
- Receiving guests as they disembark from their cruise ship
- Leading a predetermined number of guests on a fixed-route Walking Tour with stops for verbal (non-amplified) talks with guests.
- Leading a predetermined number of guests on a fixed-route Walking Tour with stops for verbal (non-amplified) talks with guests.
- Attention to safety concerns, traffic, walkways
- Build your own presentation with cultural and historic information (Training provided)
- Communicating with Intercruises Pier Staff as necessary
Who we are looking for:
- Previous experience as a tour guide or working with tourists is required
- Candidate must be flexible to work weekdays and weekends
- This is an outdoor position
- All tours require a minimum three-hour commitment per tour
- Knowledge of the history of the City and surrounding areas
- Individuals must be able to work independently, be friendly , outgoing and a good communicator
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Take command in stressful and/or awkward situations
- Be able to multitask, be reliable, punctual and committed
- Tours require a commitment to a specific number of hours
