Jennings McCall is looking for Full Time Prep Cook to join our kitchen crew.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Sufficient English, communication and language skills both verbal and written, to enable performance of duties and interaction with management and co-workers.
- Perform daily food prep tasks assigned effectively and safely, including but not limited to: producing high quality, good looking and tasting products, reading and applying recipes, measurement of ingredients, reading menus, and assisting the Cooks, as needed.
- To prepare all food items as requested including salads, desserts and diabetic or special food items in a timely manner in accordance with production menus.
- Banquet food preparation, service and cleanup as assigned or requested.
- Participate in trainings or in-services as requested.
- Ability to stay on task, work quickly and meet deadlines.
- Sufficient physical strength, understanding and coordination to work food preparation and cooking equipment in a safe manner.
- Ability to take initiative to accomplish tasks at hand and work ahead for upcoming needs.
- To keep accurate records of any changes in recipes and inform the Cook.
- To assist with food ordering as requested.
- To assist with the upkeep of the Freezer, Cooler and Dry Storage areas as requested and according to proper procedures.
- To assist with putting away dry storage and keeping that area clean, organized and stocked as requested.
- To limit waste of food products and assist with the prevention of any food, baked items, kitchen equipment or utensils from being removed from the facility.
- Washing and sanitizing counters, utensils, machines, carts, sinks, and food prep areas.
- To restrain hair, wash hands, and follow all sanitation regulations and procedures.
- To plan ahead and keep the Manager informed of items needed.
