Responsible for supervising and taking care of pets in the absence of their owners while they are within our care.
Primary Responsibilites:
- Feed, water, nurture, and care after pets including but not limited dogs, cats or other animals
- Exercise with dogs
- Positive reinforcement for good behavior
- Properly correct unacceptable behavior
- Assess an animal from head to toe for disease or distress
- Clean and disinfect play area, dirty bowls, buckets, kennels, laundry, etc.
- Remove and disinfect animal waste
- Check in or check out clients
- Answer phone calls
- Book appointments
- Provide information about animals such as behavior, facility activities, amenities for the animals and more
- Provide information about our facility, services, quality standards and more
- Prepare meals
- Administer medications
- Perform wound care on an injured pet
- Record food intake, physical and mental condition, medications given, etc.
- Ensure safe transport of animals
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Work Days:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Ability to Relocate:
- New Hartford, NY 13413: Relocate before starting work (Required)
