Position Overview OnTime Petroleum & Propane is looking for a dependable Service Technician to install, maintain and service propane and fuel systems for residential, farm and commercial customers. This role focuses on safety, problem-solving and supporting daily operations in the field. We are a locally owned, service-focused business, so reliability, communication and attention to detail are essential.
What You’ll Do
Install, service and maintain propane and fuel tanks, regulators, piping and related equipment Perform system inspections, leak checks and repairs in accordance with safety regulations Respond to service calls and troubleshoot propane and fuel system issues Assist with tank set and equipment installation Complete required service documentation and maintain accurate records Communicate professionally with customers about system safety and operation Maintain clean, safe equipment, vehicles and work areas Follow all DOT, NFPA and company safety regulations Support general operations as needed, especially during busy seasons
Work Expectations & Requirements Some days may require longer hours, especially during peak heating seasons Weekend work may be required during fall and winter months Must be willing to respond to emergency service calls, including after-hours situations Reliability, attendance and attention to safety are critical in this role Must maintain a professional appearance and represent the company well with customers Willingness to assist other team members and support operations when needed
Qualifications
Experience with propane systems, plumbing, HVAC, construction or mechanical work preferred Must have or be willing to obtain required service technician certifications Valid driver’s license with clean driving record CDL (Class B or ability to obtain) preferred but not required Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred (Not Required) Previous propane or service technician experience Mechanical, electrical or agricultural background MN Propane Association or CETP certification Basic computer or tablet skills for service documentation Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
