Full Time Hospice Nurse Needed - (Taos, New Mexico)
Mountain Home Health Care, a home health and hospice agency in Taos, NM is currently hiring for FT Hospice Nurse. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in clinical assessment. With at least one year of Hospice experience, and must possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Critical-thinking skills to assess a patient's situation, as well as detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and will need to know when action is necessary.
- A compassionate disposition and the ability to consistently demonstrate a sympathetic attitude to a patient's needs, in various states of pain, trauma and tragedy.
- Attention to detail to accurately administer medications, monitor vital signs and subtle changes in a patient's health.
- Strong organizational prioritization skills.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and listening skills as to comfort patients who are scared, in pain or still coming to terms with their death, and the ability to compassionately address concerns, fears, and questions of family members.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN, PHN preferred.
- Current (or eligible) New Mexico RN license.
Experience in hospice is preferred but not required.
