Position Summary
The Exterior Grounds Porter is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and presentable exterior areas of assigned properties, including landscapes, planters, parking garages, parking lots, sidewalks, and patios. This position supports building appearance standards and contributes to a positive experience for tenants, clients, and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Remove debris from landscaped areas, planters, and planted beds, ensuring all exterior grounds are clean and well maintained.
- Monitor exterior areas and promptly report any thefts, broken pots, vandalism, or missing plants to the supervisor or designated contact.
- Sweep and clean parking garages, parking lots, sidewalks, and walkways, maintaining clear and safe walking/driveling surfaces.
- Remove cigarette butts, geese droppings, and other trash from exterior patios and seating areas.
- Empty exterior trash receptacles as needed and ensure waste is properly disposed of in designated collection areas.
- Pick up and deliver supplies, materials, and equipment as requested by supervisors or management.
- Communicate any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or unusual conditions observed on the property.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and equipment.
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor while on client properties.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the manager or supervisor, based on operational and client needs.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in janitorial, groundskeeping, or maintenance work preferred but not required.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, and carry materials for extended periods and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors, coworkers, and building personnel.
Schedule
Work Hours : 6:30am-3:00pm
- Must be available to work during normal business hours, with flexibility as needed based on client or site needs.
Work Environment
- Primarily outdoor work environment, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
- May require the use of basic cleaning tools and equipment such as brooms, dustpans, carts, and similar items.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
