Job Overview
I am seeking a dynamic and compassionate and reliable independent Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join my mental health team either part- time with benefits or as an independent contractor PRN.
In this vital role, you will provide focused psychiatric assessments, on previously established patients. This role will require very minimal prescribing no prescribing. It's the perfect gig for someone looking to earn extra income in addition to their full time role , or for someone who is not fully wanting the commitment of a full time role just yet.

Responsibilities
- Conduct focused medication management evaluation evaluations, including focused history-taking, mental status examinations, and risk assessments for patients of all ages 15 and older, collecting Vital signs on all patients and ordering UDS.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans incorporating medication management
- Rarely Prescribe medication, but frequently monitor the Colorado PDMP in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Practice Q to document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately.
- Provide patient education on medication use, side effects, and lifestyle modifications to support adherence and recovery.
- Participate in case management activities, discharge planning, and follow-up care to ensure continuity of treatment.
Requirements
- Valid Colorado state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or willing to obtain one with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Current DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- Proven experience in psychiatric assessment and medication management within outpatientsettings.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Practice Q is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, mental health diagnoses (including ICD-10 coding), and evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work indepently .
- Experience working with adults with ADHD Depression and anxiety
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
