Insight Global is seeking a Medical Assistant for a leading healthcare client. The Medical Assistant (MA) reports to the Center/Clinic Administrator and provides routine patient care within their level of training under the direction of a clinical supervisor and/or physician in accordance with applicable state regulations. This role supports clinical operations, assists providers in patient care, and ensures high-quality service delivery in a professional healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support in patient care, including assisting physicians and nursing personnel with procedures under direct supervision
- Administer medications, immunizations, EKGs, ear washes, and perform additional patient services as directed
- Assist in simple office and minor surgical procedures and support patient education efforts
- Perform venipuncture and handle laboratory duties, including specimen preparation and maintaining logs
- Prepare patients for examinations, room patients, and maintain organized clinical spaces
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records in accordance with company policy
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards, infection control procedures, and OSHA requirements
- Answer phones, triage calls, and complete front office duties as needed
- Communicate patient needs and observations effectively to providers and care team members
- Maintain inventory, equipment, and cleanliness of exam rooms and lab areas
- Deliver professional, courteous customer service to all patients and internal staff
- Perform other duties as assigned and maintain reliable attendance
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification (or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical practices
- Ability to document, report findings, and communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Proficiency in performing EKGs and phlebotomy
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards
- Computer literacy and ability to maintain electronic records
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Pay: $22.00 per hour
