Duties
- Assist therapists with patient intake, setup, and preparation for therapy sessions across various disciplines such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy
- Support patient transfer methods using proper manual handling techniques to ensure safety and comfort
- Help maintain a clean, organized therapy environment by preparing equipment and sterilizing tools according to infection control standards
- Monitor patient progress during sessions, document observations accurately, and communicate updates to the therapy team
- Provide compassionate patient service by addressing questions, offering encouragement, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatment
- Support rehabilitation care assistance through mobility exercises, postural training, and functional activities under supervision
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies
Skills
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation principles
- Proven experience in patient service and delivering compassionate care in hospital or outpatient settings
- Knowledge of patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques for safe mobility assistance
- Familiarity with physiotherapy practices, orthopedics, geriatrics, and post-acute care environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, patients, and healthcare team members to ensure clear understanding of treatment plans
- Experience working in inpatient or outpatient clinics with exposure to hospital medicine or sub-acute care settings preferred
- CPR certification and knowledge of acute care procedures are highly desirable for ensuring patient safety during therapy sessions
