Duties
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform personalized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, family, and youth therapy sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and art or dance therapy when appropriate.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health episodes effectively while ensuring client safety and compliance with clinical ethical guidelines.
- Develop detailed clinical documentation adhering to medical documentation standards within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems, including treatment planning, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Facilitate intake assessments to evaluate client needs accurately and coordinate case management services for comprehensive patient support.
- Engage in research activities and data collection to improve therapeutic outcomes and contribute to clinical research initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address co-occurring disorders such as addiction or medical conditions like chronic pain or Geriatrics issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HIPAA regulations, ICD coding updates, and telehealth best practices to ensure compliance and high-quality patient care.
Experience
- Proven experience providing psychotherapy in outpatient or inpatient settings with a focus on mental health counseling across diverse populations.
- Demonstrated expertise in child & family counseling, pediatric mental health issues including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), special education needs, and youth therapy.
- Hands-on experience with crisis management, trauma-focused therapy for PTSD care, grief counseling, and behavior management strategies.
- Skilled in utilizing EMR/EHR systems for clinical documentation standards; familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities-related behavioral challenges is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to psychopharmacology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and clinical ethical guidelines is essential.
- Background working with co-occurring disorders such as substance use or Geriatrics populations enhances your ability to deliver holistic care.
- Telehealth experience is preferred to provide flexible patient access while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
