We are seeking a reliable and skilled Commercial Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep
and day-to-day operations of our restaurant and commercial properties. In this hands-on role, you
will be responsible for performing general maintenance, cosmetic repairs, and preventive upkeep
across multiple locations. You will also serve as the primary point of coordination with outside
contractors for larger-scale projects. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping facilities looking
and functioning their best, works independently, and communicates clearly with both site managers
and vendors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance and cosmetic repairs including patching drywall, touch-up painting, caulking, flooring repairs, and fixture replacements
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify and address maintenance needs proactively
- Repair and replace doors, locks, hinges, handles, and associated hardware
- Perform minor plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing faucets or toilet components
- Address minor electrical issues including replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and ballasts (within code and licensure)
- Maintain interior and exterior appearance of all assigned properties
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests submitted by management or staff
Restaurant & Commercial Facility Support
- Support kitchen and front-of-house equipment maintenance; identify issues and coordinate
repairs as needed
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards as they relate to facility
condition
- Maintain storage areas, utility spaces, and back-of-house areas in safe, organized condition
- Assist with seasonal maintenance tasks including HVAC filter changes, weatherproofing, and
exterior upkeep
Contractor Coordination
- Identify scope of work for projects exceeding in-house capabilities and solicit bids from qualified contractors
- Schedule and oversee contractor visits; ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and to specification
- Communicate progress and status updates to property or operations managers
- Maintain records of vendor contacts, work orders, warranties, and completed repairs
- Obtain necessary permits and ensure all work meets applicable codes and regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 2+ years of experience in commercial, restaurant, or multi-site facility maintenance
- Proficiency in general carpentry, painting, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, basic blueprints, and equipment manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varied environments
Preferred
- Experience in restaurant or food service facility maintenance
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and HVAC systems
- EPA 608 certification or other relevant trade certifications
- Experience managing contractor relationships and project timelines
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
WORK SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
- Schedule: Monday–Friday with occasional weekend availability for urgent repairs
