Plant Engineer

Opportunity Overview
Our client, a well-established owner and operator of utility-scale power generation assets, is seeking a Plant Engineer to support multiple natural gas-fired generating facilities. This individual will serve as a key technical resource supporting plant reliability, equipment performance, maintenance strategy, and capital improvement initiatives while partnering closely with operations and maintenance leadership.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong turbine background, particularly supporting Siemens gas turbine technology, along with prior experience working in combined-cycle generation environments.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Reliability & Technical Support
- Provide engineering support for utility-scale power generation assets, focusing on equipment reliability, performance optimization, and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment issues and develop long-term corrective actions to improve plant availability and reliability.
- Perform root cause analyses for forced outages and recurring equipment failures.
- Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for major plant equipment.
- Serve as the primary engineering resource for gas turbine performance, maintenance planning, and technical troubleshooting.
- Support outage planning, equipment inspections, vendor coordination, and execution of major maintenance activities.
Capital Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and support capital improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and plant modifications from planning through implementation.
- Evaluate plant performance data and recommend engineering improvements that increase efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
- Develop engineering documentation, technical procedures, and equipment recommendations.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, contractors, and OEM representatives during major projects and outages.
Compliance & Plant Support
- Maintain engineering documentation and support compliance with applicable operational, environmental, and reliability requirements.
- Assist with technical reporting, equipment assessments, and regulatory documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to operations and maintenance personnel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent power generation experience.
- Current or former Siemens Field Service Engineer with direct experience supporting utility power plant customers strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience supporting Siemens SGT-800 gas turbines is required.
- Combined-cycle power plant experience is required, preferably supporting facilities utilizing Siemens SGT-800 and/or GE 7FA or GE A10 gas turbines.
- Strong understanding of gas turbine operation, maintenance practices, troubleshooting, and outage support.
- Experience performing equipment reliability analysis, root cause investigations, and technical problem solving.
- Ability to support multiple engineering priorities in a fast-paced plant environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working directly for Siemens Energy supporting field service activities.
- Experience leading outage execution, major inspections, or turbine upgrade projects.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience within a power generation environment.
- Familiarity with plant DCS systems and balance-of-plant equipment.
- Experience managing contractors and coordinating OEM resources.
- Project management or capital project execution experience.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
