Job description:
The Front of House Manager is a full -time exempt position that supports the businesses managed by First Avenue in St. Paul at Palace Pub, by providing high quality customer service to guests, patrons, tenants and fellow staff members. The person in this position is responsible for all functions of the Bar and Restaurant area, including hiring and training, staffing, ordering, supervising repairs and maintenance, and menu execution. You will be required to be detail orientated, and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the Director of General Operations.

SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, exempt position with a variable weekly schedule depending on show schedule and venue needs in Downtown St. Paul. The Front of House Manager must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours, as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interviewing, Hiring and Training of staff to ensure proper staffing level scheduling.
- Assist with the creation and delivery of food and beverage menu execution.
- Help manage physical food, supply, and beverage elements including ordering, inventory, and quality food and beverage menu execution.
- Assist with research and analysis for upcoming menu changes, concerts, and events.
- Responsible for the creation and execution of necessary restaurant and event-specific procedural expectations.
- Maintain relationships with key purveyors and local partners.
- Assist with quantifying success and efficiency of menu mix and menu offerings.
- Track and help manage food, beverage and supply costs; help manage to-budget on all areas of responsibility in regards to ordering and inventory items.
- Coordinate with various departments (Back of House, finance, ticketing, production, operations) as needed.
- Collaborate with, present ideas to, and contextualize results for a broad audience.
- Miscellaneous administrative tasks including filing, record keeping, and reporting as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- 4-year degree or comparable relevant experience.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a relevant full-time position.
- Experience creating and managing quality menu item implementations.
- Traditional scheduling, ordering, and new training planning experience a plus.
- Multi-unit management a plus.
- Excellent communication skills required including strong verbal and written communication skills and diligent attention to detail.
- Must thrive in a team environment, but be able to take initiative and work independently.
- Food Handler Certificate a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook are musts.)
- Proficiency with various food system applications and excellent knowledge of relevant online industry ordering systems.
- Must be highly organized, detailed-oriented, and excited to work in an all-hands-on-deck team environment.

- Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
