The UNC Institute for Trauma Recovery within the Department of Psychiatry seeks to advance understanding of trauma recovery and develop interventions that improve recovery. The Clinical Research Coordinator will support the Institute’s Better Tomorrow Network (BTN), the first research network in the world dedicated to improving treatments and care for survivors of sexual assault. The mission of the Better Tomorrow Network is to remove barriers to the conduct of high-quality, large-scale research studies that improve the lives of sexual assault survivors. The Network brings together leading sexual assault treatment centers, researchers, community stakeholders, and survivors into a survivor-centered collaborative focused on advancing prevention, early intervention, treatment, and systems-level improvements in care and outcomes for survivors.
This position will play an important role in supporting multi-site clinical research studies conducted through the Better Tomorrow Network. The Clinical Research Coordinator will assist with study operations, participant recruitment and retention efforts, regulatory and study documentation, data collection and quality assurance activities, and coordination with collaborating clinical sites and research partners. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced research environment focused on trauma-informed care and survivor-centered research practices.
The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, and conduct of multiple clinical research study protocols, including independently collecting and recording data, project administration, and communication with various stakeholders.
