We focus on providing high-quality care to our feline patients. We are seeking a dedicated and caring candidate to join our team. Cross-training is always welcomed and we currently are looking for an experienced tech that can provide care to our boarding cats during closed hours. This position requires strong professional ethics, ensuring the well-being of our patients, client education and empathy, and a commitment to continuous learning. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Provide proper fear free handling and restraint of felines during examinations and treatments.
- Commitment to pet care excellence through compassion and attention to detail.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
- Prepare felines for surgery, including administering pre-operative medications as directed.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging such as X-rays.
- Monitor vital signs and behavior during treatments or recovery.
- Educate owners on proper care, nutrition, and post-operative instructions.
- Maintain accurate medical records (Avimark) and assist with inventory management of supplies.
Skills
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- Proficient in feline handling techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively within the team.
- Understanding of animal physiology to assist in patient assessments.
- Experience as a veterinary technician/assistant.
- Understanding of animal husbandry principles for optimal animal welfare.
- Knowledge of dental terminology relevant to veterinary practices.
- Experience in veterinary critical care settings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in diagnostics.
- Skills in feline catheterization for medical procedures.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique for surgical preparation and procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
