The Patient Services Supervisors at Stony Brook University Hospital are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day supervision of the patient services operations within the dietary department.
**Essential Position: This position is considered "Essential." The incumbent must report to work regardless of extreme weather or other conditions. **
Position Details:
- Salary Range: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
- FLSA: Non-Exempt
- Schedule: Part-time; 4 days per week including Saturday and Sunday; Evening, weekend and holiday shifts are REQUIRED.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a related area or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Food Service Handler Certificate (current or obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a kitchen leadership role
- Minimum of 2 years in a long-term or acute care facility
- Knowledge of A la Carte/Room Service food operations
- Proficiency with Windows computers and software
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Experience supervising Union employees, a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Complete required departmental reports and records
- Meet with morning/evening supervisors to discuss and resolve any issues and change
- Supervise dietary aides, porters, and dietary clerks on shift
- Open and close the department
- Responsible for schedules and meetings with employees
- Enforce dept. sanitation standards, safety and infection control procedures
- Review logs daily for staffing concerns, equipment/production problems, and work assignment sheets.
- Per government standards, check and document sanitation and cleanliness of all work areas, including pantries.
- Conduct performance appraisals of staff according to established procedures.
