American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU position requiring 2 years of PCU/Neuro experience and Epic proficiency.

Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Neuro Stepdown unit of a hospital environment
-
Care for neurological and stepdown-level patients including post-craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleed, post-TPA, and traumatic brain injury cases
-
Estimated patient ratio of 1:4
-
Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
Rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays required
-
Floating to different units within the OSU organization as needed
-
Uses Epic EMR
-
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
-
Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required, with neurological patient care experience as a hard requirement
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
-
Experience with heparin protocols, isolation precautions/PPE, and oxygen administration required
-
2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

Provide nursing care for neuro stepdown and PCU patients, including pre/post neurosurgical management and monitoring for cardiac and neurological emergencies

Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Former employees eligible for consideration once away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for this traveler position

RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
-
Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
