Position Overview
The Recovery Coach provides peer-based recovery support to clients participating in behavioral health programs and Safe & Sober Housing (SSH). This role supports clients in maintaining sobriety, developing coping and life skills, engaging in treatment, and building independence.
Recovery Coaches facilitate recovery-focused groups, provide individual recovery coaching, assist with SSH oversight, and provide front desk support. All services are provided in alignment with recovery principles and under the supervision of program leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Recovery & Group Support
- Facilitate recovery-focused groups and encourage client participation.
- Provide individual recovery coaching and support clients in working toward recovery goals.
- Promote accountability, healthy communication, and positive peer support.
- Monitor client engagement and report concerns to leadership.
Safe & Sober Housing
- Monitor resident attendance, curfew, and program participation.
- Conduct weekly inspections and searches as required by policy.
- Reinforce house expectations and address minor conflicts.
- Document and report rule violations, safety concerns, or relapse indicators.
Front Desk & Client Support
- Provide front desk coverage as assigned.
- Assist clients with checking in for groups, appointments, and medication management appointments.
- Help clients stay aware of scheduled services and arrive on time.
- Support client flow and daily program operations.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete group, individual, attendance, and housing documentation accurately and timely.
- Follow agency policies, confidentiality requirements, and escalation procedures.
- Participate in required training, supervision, and staff meetings.
- Maintain required certifications and Idaho DHW BCU clearance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Recovery Coach Certification required.
- Lived experience with behavioral health or substance use recovery preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
- Full-time or part-time available.
- In-person position.
Accountability
The Recovery Coach reports to the Clinical Supervisor and supports the organization's mission of promoting long-term recovery, personal responsibility, client engagement, and a safe and supportive environment.
