Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced, creative Senior Interior Designer to join our growing team. This position leads the design and specification of commercial office environments from initial concepts through installation while working closely with clients, sales professionals, project coordinators, and manufacturers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building client relationships, developing creative workplace solutions, mentoring junior designers, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities
· Collaborate with clients to understand their goals, workplace needs, and project requirements.
· Lead the design, presentation, and furniture specifications for projects of varying size and complexity.
· Create space plans, furniture layouts, renderings, and installation drawings using CET/SPEC and related software.
· Work closely with salespeople, project coordinators, manufacturers, and installation teams to ensure successful project execution.
· Present design concepts and recommendations to clients with confidence and professionalism.
· Mentor junior designers and contribute to the continued development of the design team.
· Stay current on workplace trends, commercial furniture products, and design best practices.
· Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Interior Design.
· Five or more years of commercial interior design experience, preferably within a commercial office furniture dealership.
· Proficiency with AutoCAD, CET Designer, SPEC, or 2020 CAP/Worksheet.
· Strong knowledge of commercial office furniture systems, space planning, and workplace design principles.
· Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· NCIDQ certification or progress toward certification is a plus.
· Valid driver's license and ability to travel periodically between our Pewaukee and Middleton offices, customer locations, and occasional conferences and training events.
