Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals requiring assistance due to age, illness, or disability. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized care and ensuring that clients feel comfortable and safe in their living environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management.
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe living space.
- Use EMR and EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and communication with healthcare professionals.
- Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Provide specialized care for clients with conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, or developmental disabilities.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information.
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in client conditions.
- Experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records management.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with catheter care and hospice care practices is beneficial.
- Previous experience in home health or community care environments is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have disabilities or require memory care support.
