Position Summary
Blue Wind Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Quality Technician to join our Quality team. This position is responsible for performing inspections, verifying product quality, maintaining accurate quality records, and supporting compliance with company procedures and customer requirements throughout the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, is comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, and can effectively identify, document, and communicate quality concerns.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials, components, and finished products.
- Inspect products for defects, damage, dimensional accuracy, workmanship, and compliance with established quality standards.
- Verify that manufacturing processes and products meet applicable drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.
- Use measuring and inspection tools as required to verify product conformity.
- Accurately complete inspection reports, quality records, checklists, and other required documentation.
- Identify and document nonconforming materials or products.
- Communicate quality issues promptly to Quality leadership, supervisors, and Production.
- Assist with the investigation and documentation of quality concerns and nonconformities.
- Support corrective and preventive actions when required.
- Maintain traceability and organization of quality documentation.
- Follow established quality procedures and work instructions.
- Work closely with Production, Process, Engineering, and other departments to resolve quality concerns.
- Participate in quality meetings, training, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in quality inspection, quality control, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies.
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately maintain electronic and written records.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with Production and other departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, or Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
- Experience reading technical drawings or manufacturing specifications.
- Knowledge of nonconformance reporting, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience in composites, fiberglass, wind energy, or similar manufacturing environments is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform inspections in various areas of the production floor.
- Ability to lift and handle materials as required by the position and in accordance with company safety procedures.
