St. Augustine Health Ministries is seeking a warm, creative, mission-driven Advancement & Community Engagement Coordinator to work as part of the Advancement Team in helping more people know, trust, support, and engage with our ministries.
This is not a social media-only position. It is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys people, storytelling, community outreach, volunteer engagement, events, and practical marketing communications. The right person will help connect families with care, volunteers with meaningful service, and donors, sponsors, parishes, schools, civic groups, businesses, and community partners with ways to support our mission.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Build and cultivate meaningful relationships with volunteers, parishes, schools, civic groups, businesses, donors, sponsors, community partners, families, and referral sources.
Recruit, interview, welcome, orient, schedule, support, and recognize volunteers and groups who want to serve across St. Augustine Health Ministries, working with departments to match volunteers with meaningful opportunities.
Help create volunteer projects, events, and communications that introduce new people to our mission, services, and ways to get involved.
Support efforts that increase awareness, referrals, admissions inquiries, volunteer participation, event attendance, donations, sponsorships, and community engagement.
Gather basic stories, photos, quotes, and examples of impact for newsletters, donor communications, website updates, volunteer recruitment, social media, and event materials.
Create and update flyers, invitations, event materials, sponsor pieces, recruitment materials, website content, social media graphics, and other communications that follow and uplift St. Augustine Health Ministries’ brand identity, voice, mission, and visual standards.
Support fundraising events, volunteer activities, donor gatherings, community programs, and follow-up with key contacts.
Build and serve as the liaison with our Young Professional Committee “Friends of”
Qualifications
Minimum of three years’ experience in nonprofit, healthcare, senior services, ministry, education, volunteer coordination, community engagement, marketing, communications, events, or a related field
The right person for this role is outgoing, compassionate, organized, and comfortable connecting with people. They should enjoy building relationships, reaching out to new contacts, talking with groups, welcoming volunteers, and representing St. Augustine Health Ministries in a warm and professional way.
This person should be a natural mission ambassador who can speak with respect, confidence, and heart about the dignity and value of older adults, hospice patients, medically complex individuals, families, and all those entrusted to our care.
Comfortable making outreach calls, attending community events, inviting people to campus, and helping others see meaningful ways to volunteer, give, refer, sponsor, attend, or get involved.
Exceptional creative writing, editing, and nonprofit storytelling ability; strong graphic design skills with demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva (or similar) to create professional, brand-aligned print and digital materials.
Comfort with website updates, email marketing, social media, photography, or video is helpful.
Manage details, follow through, and work independently and collaboratively with the Advancement Team and other departments is essential.
Work in fast passed environment with multiple projects
On-site in Cleveland with some schedule flexibility
