Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our innovative team at our Downers Grove location. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for various gear products, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met or exceeded.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify process inefficiencies or defects and develop effective corrective actions.
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo to design process layouts, tooling, and fixtures that support manufacturing operations.
- Program and troubleshoot industrial automation CNC equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), vision inspection systems, and robot programming to streamline production workflows.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with design engineers, quality teams, and production staff to facilitate seamless process integration and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance overall process performance.
- Analyze engineering data related to manufacturing processes to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost-saving measures.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and general CAD principles for schematic design and layout planning.
- Strong knowledge of gear manufacturing processes and associated industrial equipment.
- Experience with industrial automation systems including robot programming, vision inspection systems, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Expertise in process engineering techniques such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), lean management, Six Sigma manufacturing practices, and continuous improvement strategies.
- Ability to perform engineering troubleshooting across manufacturing equipment and assembly lines in a factory setting.
- Skilled in project scheduling, project management within manufacturing environments, and factory experience with assembly line operations.
- Excellent analytical skills in engineering data analysis combined with effective team leadership capabilities for managing cross-functional projects.
- Familiarity with schematics creation for industrial equipment system.
