MAIN PURPOSE: As a Human Resource Specialist, you will be responsible for much of the operational work HR is responsible for, including HR processes, as well as supporting frontline managers with HRIS navigation and completion of manual processes. You will support the business by completing transactional tasks and ensuring critical roles are filled efficiently. You will play a critical role in ensuring that the teams are fully supported and can focus on the organization’s strategic initiatives and most-pressing, business-related needs.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.

Responsible for pre-employment activities, new employee onboarding and orientation.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Completes offboarding activities.

Report preparation as required.

Deliver transactional and administrative support to leaders and employees.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Organize and introduce internal training.

Support employees with benefits and payroll-related questions and inquiries.
-
Must have an ability to triage HR issues and appropriately reach out to members of the team for assistance.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration or related field. Equivalent experience considered.

2 years’ experience with HR processes required.

Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite required

Communications skills necessary to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization as well as external customers.

Demonstrated ability working with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.

Experience with HRIS and enterprise software required.
-
Certified in Development Dimensions International (DDI), or willing to obtain DDI certification to support and facilitate training initiatives.
