Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable 26ft Box Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team! In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a commercial box truck to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will ensure timely deliveries while providing excellent customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our delivery operations, supporting warehouse functions and ensuring customer satisfaction every step of the way.
Duties
- Safely operate a 26ft box truck, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Plan and follow optimized delivery routes using mobile devices or route management systems to ensure punctual deliveries.
- Assist with warehouse operations by helping load goods onto the truck and organizing inventory for efficient transport.
- Deliver goods directly to customers’ locations, providing excellent customer service through professional communication and courteous interaction.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in safe working condition and reporting any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery receipts, and other documentation required by company policies and DOT regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or commercial truck driver with a focus on box trucks or similar vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and manual handling procedures.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, material handling equipment operation (such as forklifts or pallet jacks), and heavy lifting safety standards.
- Ability to adhere strictly to traffic laws, DOT regulations, and workplace safety protocols related to weight handling in the workplace.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude during deliveries.
- Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery updates, and communication purposes.
- Ability to be on the road 2-3 weeks at a time although we do make an effort to get drivers home on the weekend.
- Ability to use a smart phone to scan and send documents.
