Join our dynamic team as a Cashier/Stocker, where you’ll play a vital role in creating an exceptional shopping experience for our customers! In this energetic position, you will be responsible for managing transactions at the register while also ensuring that our store is well-stocked and visually appealing. Your enthusiasm and commitment to customer service will help drive sales and enhance the overall atmosphere of our grocery store.
What you’ll do
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions with accuracy.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting them with their needs.
- Stock shelves and merchandise products effectively to maintain an organized and inviting shopping environment.
- Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote new items or special offers.
- Utilize retail math skills to manage cash handling, ensuring all transactions are balanced at the end of your shift.
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and suggesting complementary items during checkout.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in both the cashier area and stockroom to promote safety and efficiency.
- Exhibit strong communication skills while interacting with customers and team members to foster a collaborative work environment.
Basic qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred.
- Strong basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Good memory for window service orders.
- Common sense and the ability to understand or state when you don't understand.
Preferred qualifications
- Supervising experience is a plus, as you may assist in training new team members.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to better serve our diverse customer base.
- Familiarity with merchandising techniques to enhance product displays effectively.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone when necessary.
