The Department of Neurosurgery at invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek a highly motivated Basic Science Researcher with expertise in neurosciences and neurosurgical-related research. Candidates with an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degree are eligible, and clinician-researchers are encouraged to apply. Salary and FTE would be prorated for any clinical activity if relevant. The successful candidate will engage in groundbreaking basic science research, mentor trainees, and collaborate with clinical and research faculty to advance the field of neurosurgery.
Competitive applicants will have a strong history of success in securing extramural research funding in areas related to neurosurgery, such as neurotrauma, neuro-oncology, spinal cord injury, cerebrovascular diseases, or neuroregeneration and have a significant publication record in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences. Rank is to be determined based on qualifications and experience. In addition to conducting research, the faculty member will be expected to contribute to our educational mission through teaching and training of residents, medical students, graduate students, or postdoctoral fellows.
